Commodore Amiga
The Amiga was THE most popular home computer in the late 80s and early 90s before Commodore Business Machines went bust in 1993. Gateway 2000/Amiga Inc now own the Amiga.
To run these emulators, a Kickstart ROM is required. These can be found in the downloads section.
Please note: The Kickstart ROM is copyrighted by Amiga International and the ROM files we provide here are purely for back-up reasons, it is assumed that you have purchased the ROM or have transferred the ROM from your Amiga.
WinUAE (1.3mb)
WinUAE, the wonderful Amiga emulator for Windows. The Windows port moves ahead of the standard Unix UAE and has lots of features, its great for both Games and Applications, highly recomended.
WinUAE allows you to run Amiga software under Windows, including many games, demos, and applications. General compatibility is quite good, and there are a number of enhancements in WinUAE compared to a standard Amiga computer.
Version : 0.8.17
Operating System : Windows
Extra Files Req : Kickstart ROM
DosUAE (0.6mb)
This is the DOS port of UAE, another Docs update. Why is this emulator so far behind the Windows port - I'm unsure. Its not as good as either WinUAE or Fellow, but might be a good option for some users (non Windows?). Does have a working GUI though.
Version : 0.7.5d
Operating System : MS-DOS
Extra Files Req : Kickstart ROM

WinFellow (0.26mb)
This is the Windows port of the much liked Fellow. If you dont know, Fellow is a fast Amiga 500 emulator for DOS, it was discontinued and we have only seen a few small releases. This Windows port is here in the myst of many discontinued rumours. The good news is that it seems to keep the speed of the DOS port and from what I have tried seems reasonably compatable. A nice emulator and worth testing out.
Version : 0.4.3 Build 1 - Snapshot 15
Operating System : Windows
Extra Files Req : Kickstart ROM, Microsoft Direct X

Fellow (0.76mb)
A fantastic Amiga emulator for DOS. This emulator includes 68010, 68020 and 68030 instruction set emulation now capable of running some programs, so its now not just an Amiga 500 emulator.
Another great feature is the MOD ripping feature, simply run a game, go back to the menu and under utility select mod ripper and if the music is stored in memory as a mod file then you can save it and play in on your PC. Fantastic. This version has a big html version of the documents inside (this explains the large filesize).
Version : 0.35
Operating System : MS-DOS
Extra Files Req : Kickstart ROM

Atari ST
The Atari ST was the 16bit rival to the Amiga, very similar in terms of games but the ST was used more for it sound and midi interface. Great emulation using Pacifist which runs very well on slower machines under DOS and the Windows based WinSTon & Steem
To run these emulators, an Atari ST ROM is required. These can be found in the downloads section.
Steem (0.53mb)
A very popular Windows based AtariST emulator, alot of people have recommended this to me, and from what I have seen - its rather good. I only tried a few games but they ran perfectly and the speed is nice. This is a good replacement to the discontinued WinSTon.
Version : 2.1
Operating System : Windows
Extra Files Req : Atari ST ROM

Pacifist (0.2mb)
A very smart Atari ST emulator, runs well, doesn't need a super with bucketloads of horsepower for full speed and sound. Just a low end Pentium/Cyrix/AMD - superb!!
Version : 0.48
Operating System : MS-DOS
Extra Files Req : Atari ST ROM

WinSTon (0.65mb)
WinSTon - an really good Atari ST emulator for Windows 9x. It runs very fast (not sure about on lower machines) and seems to have good compatablity (it also has sound and joystick support). Bad news is that its been discontinued, at least this version is good.
Version : 0.5
Operating System : Windows 9x
Extra Files Req : Atari ST ROM

Commodore 64
The Commodore 64 is considered one of the best home computers of the eighties, with a large range of software and hardware available. Hard-core, die-hard fans still produce software for this family of machines,
even after Commodore's own demise.
All in all, there were about 22 million units sold all over the planet. A Commodore 64 is THE definitive home computer - the most common home micro around. Good news if you're looking to buy one, bad news if you want to make a fortune collecting them!
Commodore intended to resurrect the 64 as the Commodore 65. A number of beta testing prototypes of the this machine were sold when the company shut down, and they are now used normally - and are very difficult to get hold of!
CCS64 (0.3mb)
This is the most complete C64 emulator around, its amazing how much it emulates. Runs almost every single game and application available (inc. Cartridge format).

PC64 (0.5mb)
Personal C64 Emulator, the final full freeware version with no more shareware restrictions. This is a very good emulator with some nice features, it even works great under DOS & Windows 95. Easy to use interface, and quite compatable, only downside is that it doesn't work with tape images as standard - you need to use the convertor to export the prg file and run that, overall worthwhile a download and addition to your C64 emu collection
Version : 1.22
Operating System : MS-DOS

Frodo (0.4mb)
A C64 emulator for Windows 95 or Win32s and its quite good but it suffers from being quite complex to use, also quite slow (I blame this on the Windows 95/32 core...) Uncompress using Winzip (long filenames..)
Version : 4.1
Operating System : Windows 9x

VICE (2.5mb)
VICE - the Versatile Commodore 8-bit Emulator, now for Windows 9x - a nice version.. seems a Windows port works well. VICE is basically: "VICE is a set of emulators for the PET, VIC20 and C64/128 & CBM/2 8-bit machines running on Windows 9x."

Comeback 64 (0.17mb)
A good freeware C64 emulator, Comeback64 has been around for a while, its a freeware C64 emulator by Fairlight. Its not the best C64 emulator, yet. But a good addition to my page, only now has it got support for Tapes via disk redirection.

Playstation

To run these emulators, a Playstation BIOS image is required. These can be found in the downloads section.
Please note: The Playstation BIOS images are copyrighted by Sony Computer Entertainment and it is completely illegal to download this file unless you own a Sony PlayStation.
The BIOS files we provide here are purely for back-up reasons.
Bleem (0.24mb)
The demo version is a crippled version of bleem!. While it is just as compatible as the full version, the designers have disabled all sound (except CD Music), 3D Acceleration, and full memory card support. Other than that, it works great! As always, the better your computer is, the better bleem! will run. You should have at least a Pentium 166 with 16MB of RAM.
Note: Sony has filed a lawsuit against Bleem and it looks like they've won. You're free to try this demo, but it is no longer supported.
Version : 1.4 demo

Psyke (0.35mb)
The final release of Psyke, this was the last beta sent to the beta testers last September just before the Psyke team broke up and merged into the PSEmu Pro team, this version has now been released to the public. Its a good emulator, it's behind PSEmu and way behind Bleem, but it could be worthwhile trying out anyhow.
Version : 0.20 final
Operating System : Windows 9x
Extra Files Req : Playstation BIOS

PSEmu Pro (0.26mb)
The last offical BETA release of PSEmu Pro, you need the standard Psemupro1020.exe (0.5mb) files installed and working, then put these files over the top.
The emulator was growing well and gaining compatablity, but someone leaked a beta version of v2.0 and the project was canceled, the lamers ruined it, again.
This is quite a complex emulator to setup and run, it requires messing around with the various plugins. There were far too many for me to keep upto date and test, so I have just provided a link to the PSEmu homepage where they have them all.
Version : 1.0.21
Operating System : Windows 9x
Extra Files Req : Playstation BIOS + Plugins

ePSXe (0.17mb)

Version : 1.4.0

ZX Spectrum
The ZX Spectrum was launched in April of 1982 in two forms: a 16K and a 48K model at £125 and £175 respectively. There were plenty of grumbles from the computer press about the keyboard, the processing speed and the single-key-press programming system, but it didn’t matter a jot. Sinclair were releasing a much-anticipated computer into a market too young have any real expectations. It simply didn’t matter that it wasn’t the polished all-rounder that the experts had been hoping for. It was cheap, colourful and it came from a man who had been marketed as the friendly, trustworthy face of new technology. It couldn’t fail.
